Documents We Need

  • Valid passport (with at least 6 months' validity and two blank pages).?

  • Completed and signed visa application form (downloadable from embassy website).?

  • Two recent color passport photographs (3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background).?

  • Proof of address (Aadhaar card, utility bill, or rental agreement).?

  • Financial proof (last 6 months' bank statements, last 2 years' ITR, 3 months' pay slips or proof of business/self-employment).?

  • Travel itinerary (flight bookings, hotel reservations or invitation letter from Mexican host).?

  • Cover letter stating travel purpose and intention to return.?

  • Travel insurance (recommended but often required).?

  • Notarized letter/birth certificate for minors; marriage certificate if traveling with spouse; pension book if retired.?

  • Additional documents may be requested for business or student visas.

  • Passport (6 months validity, 2 blank pages)

  • Signed visa form

  • 2 recent passport photos (3.5x4.5 cm)

  • Financial documents (bank, ITR, payslips)

Application Process

  1. Book Appointment: All applicants must book a visa appointment via the official Mexico Consular appointment portal (CITAS website).?

  2. In-Person Submission: Applicants must appear in person at the Embassy/Consulate for verification, photographs, and fingerprints.?

  3. Processing Time: Typically 10–20 working days, though approvals may be as quick as 2 working days in some cases.?

  4. Collect Visa: Once approved, the visa can be picked up from the embassy or consulate.

Important Notes

  • Visa fees must be paid in INR at the current month’s exchange rate, as announced by the embassy or consulate.?

  • Visa appointments are free—beware of unauthorized agents or extra service charges.?

  • A Mexican Tourist Card (FMM) must be filled out upon arrival and is a separate immigration form—handed at entry or completed online.?

  • Applicants with valid US, UK, Schengen, Canada, or Japan visas do not need a Mexican visa for stays less than 180 days for tourism/business.
