Documents We Need

Mandatory Documents (Summary for Tourist Visa)

  • Valid Indian passport (issued within 10 years, at least two blank pages, valid for three months after return)

  • One passport-sized color photo (as per recent guidelines)

  • Completed and signed visa application form

  • Travel medical insurance covering at least €30,000 (approx INR 2,500+)

  • Proof of travel arrangements (flight bookings, travel itinerary)

  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter)

  • Recent 6-month bank statements proving financial means

  • Employment letter or proof of business/occupation

  • Cover letter explaining the purpose of visit

  • Visa fee payment receipt.

  • Stay Duration: Maximum 90 days within any 180-day period for short-stay (Type C) visas.

  • Application Timing: Apply earliest 6 months and at least 15 days before planned travel.

  • Document Checklist: Only documents listed on the official checklist are accepted; no additional documents allowed after submission.

  • Medical Insurance: Mandatory travel insurance covering at least €30,000 for medical emergencies and repatriation.

  • Biometrics: Applicants must provide fingerprints and photo unless done in past 59 months.

  • Visa Fees: Non-refundable, payable at application submission.

  • Multiple Entry: Granted based on purpose and travel history; allows multiple entries within visa validity.

  • Processing Time: Typically 15 calendar days; may extend up to 30 or 60 days in exceptional cases.

  • False Information: Providing incorrect information or fake documents leads to visa refusal and possible bans.

  • Schengen Rule: Visa allows travel across all Schengen countries, not just Switzerland.

  • Visa Refusal: No refund of fees if visa is denied; applicants can appeal or reapply.

  • Only documents on the official checklist are accepted from August 2025; extra paperwork or post-submission additions are not permitted.?
